Ferring opened its new state-of-the-art Ferring International Center to employees this week. The building is located in Ørestad City, a new development in Copenhagen.
‘We hope that this building will foster innovation and teamwork, and heighten efficiency in the day to day work of our employees, ‘ said Ole Kjerulf-Jensen, Managing Director. ‘It is an exciting project as the resulting facility breaks with tradition by bringing scientists and researchers together with a full-service center.’
The building will incorporate leading-edge tools and techniques such as a wireless telephone system, elevators with memory cards and convertible meeting rooms. The building also sports a new employee healthclub and coffee lounge on the 19th floor.
‘We now have all of our key functions represented under one roof and can capitalise on the resulting interaction and dynamic flow of information to provide renewed impetus for Ferring’s continued growth and expansion,’ said Michel L. Pettigrew, Executive Vice-President of Commercial Operations.
Over the years, Ferring has developed into a multi-national company. The founder Dr. Frederick Paulsen opened the first offices in Malmoe in the 1950s. Today, Ferring has operating units in the most important pharmaceutical markets throughout the world. Ferring has about 2,500 employees in 40 countries.
The 20-storey high building was designed by architect Henning Larsen. It will house more than 300 employees and will be one of Ferring’s largest international facilities.
Ørestad City is a few minutes from Copenhagen Airport, the Bella convention center and the bridge to Sweden.
